The Rotary Club of Barbados West is dedicated to promoting literacy and education in the community by donating books to various institutions. The books, spanning fiction and non-fiction genres for ages 4 to 18, aim to enhance literacy rates and support children’s educational development.

The club has donated over 12,000 children’s books valued in excess of BDS $300,000 to 44 public primary and secondary schools and 7 organizations, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Understanding that all children do not have equal access to books, these donations aim to provide wider access, inspire imagination, and foster a love of reading among children, while enriching school and classroom libraries across the island
