In addition to several beach clean ups, Club members discussed various national service projects that would benefit our beautiful island and its environment. After careful consideration, we unanimously agreed that planting trees would be a wonderful initiative. The importance of trees in maintaining a healthy ecosystem cannot be overstated. They provide shade, improve air quality, prevent soil erosion, and offer habitats for numerous species of flora and fauna. To date, we have planted coconut trees at the Walkers Institute for Regenerative Research, Education and Design (WIRRED). This is an ecological and biodiverse environment in the parish of St. Andrew.

Additionally, in collaboration with other service organizations island wide, Club members also planted fruit trees at the National Botanical Gardens. We believe that this project not only contributes to the preservation of our natural heritage but also promotes a sense of community and environmental stewardship among our members. By planting trees in the Botanic Gardens, we aim to positively contribute to the garden’s ecosystem, enhance its beauty, extend its sustainable impact, and create a lasting legacy for future generations.
